KODACHROME
Co-Founder, Executive Director, 2009-2015
As a college student, I co-created a non-profit organization which provided affordable, monthly dance workshops held at major universities throughout Virginia and North Carolina with a unique, compassionate learning environment. Consistently averaged at about 50 attendees per month, with the highest being 130 dancers learning from internationally revered choreographers. Participated in co-branded events for fundraisers and dance competitions with other dance organizations to promote wider reach and connection.
With no established dance community in the area, KODACHROME was the foundation which inspired dance teams and more localized groups to continue their growth, connection, and outreach. Many people who were first-time dancers attending KODACHROME or were avid supporters who showed up each workshop went on to pursue careers in dance whether it was in L.A. as a performer for music videos and tours for well-known artists, pursuing non-profit careers in the arts giving back to their communities, or making waves as teachers in studios around the country.
Collaborated with the Creative Director to create a strong brand. Proudly ahead of our time through content-focused, strategic internet marketing including early adopters of hashtag utilization, limited edition merchandise collections, promotional concept videos, photo shoots, and suites of well-designed graphics to be used for the website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
